In 2015, 12,000 wounded wild animals were collected by the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO). This organization does not only deal with birds, it works on a daily basis for the protection of species, the preservation of spaces and for education and awareness of the environment.
Most often, the 7 LPO rescue centers recover birds even if mammals are present. In 2015, 1,000 mammals were brought to the centers of the association.
Of all these animals, 50 to 60% of them are released into the wild after being treated. The more injured animals are taken to a health center quickly, the more likely they are to heal. You should never touch the animal without gloves to avoid transmitting our odor or diseases.
